New Books on Controversial Topics!

Sensitive social issues have always sparked attention and controversy.  Two books, entered into the library’s collection in the last couple of months, deal with what have been explosive topics in recent years.

Ourselves Unborn:  A History of the Fetus In Modern America

This eye-opening book, dealing with a most timely topic, is featured in the library’s new book area.  The book was a 2011 winner of the Bancroft Prize, the annual award given by Columbia University for works of American history and diplomacy.

Bioethics Around the Globe

This book explores the export of the Western sense of bioethics to the global community.  This book should provide an interesting and thought-provoking read.
