While the library has had some issues with flooding over the years, life vests generally haven’t been necessary.
Students from Dr. Amber Burgett’s Freshwater Ecology course visited the library during an on-campus lab practical complete with buckets and life vests. They used a GPS unit to locate marked sampling locations and completed a specific task at each location. At the library location, students had to use library resources to create graphs of the relationship between water depth and dissolved oxygen and temperature readings of a lake.
