Here is the list of the most frequently banned and challenged books for 2014.<\/p>\n<p><strong>1)      The Absolutely True Diary of a Part-Time Indian, by Sherman Alexie <\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Reasons: anti-family, cultural insensitivity, drugs\/alcohol\/smoking, gambling, offensive language, sex education, sexually explicit, unsuited for age group, violence. Additional reasons: \u201cdepictions of bullying\u201d<\/p>\n<p><strong>2)      Persepolis, by Marjane Satrapi<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Reasons: gambling, offensive language, political viewpoint. Additional reasons: \u201cpolitically, racially, and socially offensive,\u201d \u201cgraphic depictions\u201d<\/p>\n<p><strong>3)      And Tango Makes Three, Justin Richardson and Peter Parnell<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Reasons: Anti-family, homosexuality, political viewpoint, religious viewpoint, unsuited for age group. Additional reasons: \u201cpromotes the homosexual agenda\u201d<\/p>\n<p><strong>4)      The Bluest Eye, by Toni Morrison<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Reasons: Sexually explicit, unsuited for age group. Additional reasons: \u201ccontains controversial issues\u201d<\/p>\n<p><strong>5)      It\u2019s Perfectly Normal, by Robie Harris<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Reasons: Nudity, sex education, sexually explicit, unsuited to age group. Additional reasons: \u201calleges it child pornography\u201d<\/p>\n<p><strong>6)      Saga, by Brian Vaughan and Fiona Staples<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Reasons: Anti-Family, nudity, offensive language, sexually explicit, and unsuited for age group. Additional reasons:<\/p>\n<p><strong>7)      The Kite Runner, by Khaled Hosseini<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Reasons: Offensive language, unsuited to age group, violence<\/p>\n<p><strong>8)      The Perks of Being a Wallflower, by Stephen Chbosky<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Reasons: drugs\/alcohol\/smoking, homosexuality, offensive language, sexually explicit, unsuited for age group.
